Allantoin

A gentle, well-studied compound that softens, calms, and supports skin healing — ideal for reactive or sensitive skin.

What it does

Helps calm the look of redness and irritation, supports moisture retention, gently encourages the shedding of surface dead cells, and helps support the skin's recovery process.

Glow notes

Allantoin is a naturally occurring compound found in comfrey, chamomile, and sugar beet — and also produced naturally in the human body. In cosmetic science, it is typically synthetically produced for consistency and purity. One of the oldest documented skin-calming agents in cosmetics, allantoin works as a mild keratolytic (softening dead skin cells), a humectant (attracting moisture), and a skin-soother (helping reduce the appearance of redness and discomfort). It is exceptionally well-tolerated — safe for sensitive, dry, and reactive skin types — and is commonly used in post-treatment formulations to support skin comfort. Appears in multiple Meaga Glow cleansers and treatment formulas.
