Licorice Root Extract

Licorice root extract (Glycyrrhiza glabra) contains a compound called glabridin, which helps inhibit the enzyme tyrosinase — responsible for melanin production. This makes licorice root a valuable ingredient for helping support a more even skin tone and helping fade the visible look

of post-blemish marks, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation over time. It also contains glycyrrhizin, which has soothing properties that help calm the look of redness and irritation. Licorice root is considered one of the gentlest brightening options available — suitable for sensitive skin types that may not tolerate stronger brightening actives.
