Salicylic Acid

An oil-soluble exfoliating acid that helps support clearer-looking pores and visibly improve the look of congestion.

What it does

Penetrates into pores to help dissolve oil-based buildup, supporting cleaner-looking skin and a reduction in the visible appearance of blackheads and blemishes. Also has soothing properties.

Glow notes

Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) derived from willow bark. Because it is oil-soluble, it can penetrate into pore linings — unlike water-soluble acids. This makes it particularly effective for visibly addressing congestion, blackheads, and blemish-prone skin. It also functions as an exfoliant, helping to remove the appearance of dead skin buildup at the surface. Typically used at concentrations of 0.5%–2%.

Routine note

Best used in the evening, especially when first introducing exfoliation. Start 2–3x per week and increase based on skin response.
